7 V 7 YOUTH FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
What is 7 V 7 Football?
7 V 7 Football is a fast pace, pass focused form of football that was designed to enhance the skills of quarterbacks, receivers, running backs, defensive-backs & linebackers in the off season. The games are played on half of a football field. Offenses use the same end-zone. Although there are no running plays allowed, passing the ball to a RB behind the line of scrimmage is permitted. There is no pass rush and the QB must release the ball in a limited amount of time or be penalized. If no first down is made after three downs, the other team gets the ball.
Play consists of 30 minute games with a running clock. A touchdown is worth six points. A defensive touchdown can be scored if an interception is returned past the 45-yard line. After a catch, the receiver is considered down when touched by a defender. There is no blocking allowed.
No safety equipment is worn (other than the mandatory mouth guard), so contact is very limited. No tackling is permitted; simply touching the offensive player stops play. For a complete set of rules, please see the official rules.
